Regulations Associated with the Outdoors

Washington State’s Laws of the Great Outdoors: Fishing, Hunting and Using State Resources: A Lawyer’s Prospective.

Welcome to the 21st Century: In Washington, the Outdoors and Enjoying Nature are Highly Regulated.

In the United States, people explore the great outdoors in search of open space and freedom.  One of the many reasons why people love living in the Northwest is the opportunity to enjoy nature and its benefits. We are blessed with easy access to countless forests, rivers, lakes, beaches, and more. Whether your choice of activity is hiking, camping, foraging, driving ATVs & snowmobiles, hunting, or fishing, there are increasingly restrictive regulations that will result in trouble with officers from different enforcement agencies, administrative agencies, prosecuting attorneys and courts.  The underlying policy for each regulation can vary … some may be put in place for safety while others may be for conservation purposes, but the bottom line is there are a lot of laws and the State and Federal enforcement personnel have a reputation for being zealous and unforgiving.

The lawyers | attorneys in our office make it our business to know the law and tirelessly defend those accused of violating it.  Unfortunately, even if you wholeheartedly agree with reasons behind the law, it is very easy to run afoul of the law due to living in a heavily regulated society.  As such, we are criminal defense courtroom lawyers who operate as a team defending, fighting and advocating for the rights of individuals and businesses that become involved in the legal process.  We are not academics, politicians or teachers of law – we are litigation attorneys | lawyers who spend a great deal of time in courtrooms around the state fighting for results.  Prosecuting attorneys know the system and advocate for their version of justice, judgment and punishment, which is their job. They work as a team to prosecute and advocate for judgment and punishment.  Our private defense attorneys know the system and advocate for our client’s version of justice and judgment in both the criminal and administrative system. We work as a team to counterbalance the power of prosecuting attorney offices.  Do not get caught unaware late in a case when opinions have already been formed and offers have been made and rescinded: engage our team of experienced professionals as early in the process as possible.  It makes a difference.  We fight for your rights, freedom and the ability to continue to enjoy the great outdoors.

The criminal and administrative defense lawyers | attorneys in our office have handled an enormous number of cases in the criminal and administrative arena over the course of our lengthy private defense careers. We have a unique blend of courtroom experience, knowledge, skill and temperament. Our lawyers know cases are rarely as simple as the police reports claim and our clients hire us because they want staunch and effective counsel who take the time to handle their case right and advocate for our client’s version of justice. Whether our role is as legal counsel, negotiator, or litigator, we have years of experience resolving cases with our clients’ best interests in mind.
