Norman Dean Partington is an exceptionally experienced, creative and successful advocate for client’s who are accused of criminal offenses in state and federal courts. What makes Norm different is his commitment to communicate as clearly with his clients as he does with courts and prosecutors. Norm believes strongly in listening closely to his clients to be sure he understands the situation. His patience assures that all facts are investigated and every effective argument is developed and made. Norm’s clients consistently comment on the time and effort he takes to communicate with his clients and produce results.
Norm’s style in cases is direct and aggressive without being offensive. Norm has been arguing competitively since high school when he was a member of the debate team at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. Norm went on to debate at the University of Utah, where he learned the art of vigorous and aggressive argumentation without personal animus. Despite litigating serious cases involving difficult and trying facts, Norm manages to get better results by keeping personal animus, confrontation and competition at bay while getting the results he wants. There are many defense lawyers who do not know how to do this and their clients suffer because of it.
Norm graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and International Relations in 1983. He graduated in 1987 from the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University School of Law). During law school he participated in the Jessup International Moot Court team, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi. A Utah native, Norm relocated to western Washington after law school and passing the Utah and Washington bar exams, and has been practicing criminal defense law since 1987.
Norm has practiced criminal law since 1987 and during that time he worked in virtually every practice area, including Municipal and District courts handling misdemeanors, and Superior Court handling juvenile court, dependencies, mental health commitments and of course almost every adult felony. During that time he has gained extensive experience investigating, negotiating and litigating challenging cases and has a reputation of achieving excellent results for his clients. Norm works well with a team and is well suited to working in tandem with other lawyers and necessary experts. Norm’s caseload generally consists of serious felonies, drug cases and cases involving juvenile law.
Mr. Partington, Mr. Rhodes and Ms. Amato tend to work in tandem helping clients and their families absorb and overcome criminal accusations. When your case requires a results driven advocate who can effectively communicate with clients, families and courts, Norman is your man.
